Not that you ever need an excuse to buy more beauty products, but with Valentine’s Day around the corner, rather than a box of chocs, how about suggesting a new beauty purchase?

Steer your hapless lover in the right direction by name-dropping these beauts!

The liquid lipstick trend is showing no signs of slowing down and you can’t go wrong by painting your pout with the popular Kat Von D ‘Everlasting’ Liquid Lipsticks. Gliding over lips like a gloss and setting to a true matte finish, they promises hours of wear and are infused with natural moisturisers including vitamin e and sunflower seed wax. Having recently launched in the UK, along with the rest of her range, they’re available in 26 shades and priced £17 each.

Make Up For Ever ‘Rouge Artist’ red lip palette

Sometimes one lip colour isn’t enough and for those of us who like to switch it up, and even create customs shades then the Make Up For Ever Rouge Artist red lip palette (£31) is a great addition for your make up bag and/or handbag. The obvious choice for Valemtine’s is the red lip palette, but if that’s to your taste, then choose from the other colourways which cover pinks, nudes and corals and cater for both cool and warm skintones.

Make-up aside, you can’t go wrong with a posh candle, namely Rituals ‘Black Oudh’.  A luxurious, richly fragranced scented candle based on Black Oudh.  The ingredient is supported by an oriental, woody perfume for an elegant and special atmosphere, which lasts for an impressive 60 hours. Priced £29.50

You can find all these goodies over at Debenhams, who have a number of offers and discount codes available at the moment, to help you get the most for your pennies. You can check them out here:

Fragrance can be expensive, so they’ll come in handy if you decide to treat your loves one to the new  Dior ‘Miss Dior Absolutely Blooming’ EDP. A floral delight you’ll return to again and again. Its top notes of tangy Red Berry sweet and striking. At its heart, a sublime combination of Grasse Roses and Damascus Roses embraces a sensuous Peony accord. This infinite blooming of fresh flowers is comforted in a base of White Musk notes and it comes in a gorgeous bottle too. I can vouch how nice this is – my hairdresser was wearing it when I saw her last week! £49.50 for 30ml.

Finally, I had to add one of my all-time beauty faves onto the list. In my humble opinion, Elemis Skin Nourishing Milk Bath (£42, 400ml)  has to be the best on the market. I’ve been a fan since I was introduced to it five years ago. Indulgent, rich, moisturising and smells amazing! The special milk protein base, rich in vitamins, amino acids and minerals contains natural plant collagen from Japanese camellia oil and oat extract. Excellent for excessively dry skin conditions, leaving the skin satin soft and silky.
